Review on πŸ”₯ Efficient OTC (2359) Oil Suction Gun for Quick and Easy Fluid Extraction by Robert Moloney

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as advertised

I bought this to use for oil changes in differentials and manual transmissions. Anyone who's ever done this knows that topping up a transfer case or MT is crap, especially with those cheap pumps you buy at the Autozone that look like they just came out of a lotion bottle. I thought it would be cleaner, less messy, and easier to use. To be honest it was just as difficult. The gun only holds 16 ounces of fluid, so it takes two full pulls to drain a quart of oil. Because of the air in the hose, this actually becomes 3 full puffs. Depending on how much space you have when lying under the car, the oil can be difficult to suck in. I mean you have to pull VERY hard for it to suck oil and pumping it out also requires absurd pressure. I ended up making less of a mess than usual, but I found the usual cheap hand. Pumps are easier to use even if you have to tape them around as the threads don't match your MTF bottle. I cannot recommend or recommend any of these pistols - I have them in my tool box. Arsenal as I'm sure it will come in handy in many other projects but for MTFs and transfer cases it's just as much a bitch as any other method.
