We love this folding step stool, it looks great in our library and provides easy and safe access to our top shelves. However, it must be carefully assembled in order not to fail. Care must be taken to: 1. fully insert the supplied hex key into the head of each screw to prevent the side from rounding up completely (this requires considerable force) 3. at the same time being careful not to over tighten and thus damage the part to damage. While this is speculation on my part, I think the crashes mentioned in some of the reviews were caused by a buggy build.
