I've always relied on magnetic USB quick connectors to prevent damage to the USB port, although the Type-C ports are a more durable design but deep in my head from engineering background, I still prefer universal Qi wireless charging and USB-C charging as a last resort. I'm glad I made this choice along with my recent Sony Xperia 1 II purchase. Charging performance: As this is my first Qi charging experience, I don't know what to expect, but the charging speed through this Hoidokly Qi seems slow compared to the connected USB cable. I believe you should use the included charger which may be enough to support the Qi charging circuit. So be careful when plugging in something inappropriate along the way. I'm sure there are Qi portable batteries :) but I'm happy with what I bought. Ease of use: I like the two part module, the right part of it is handy for Ravel use Thickness (how thin)? I give a thickness rating of 5 because the correct detachable part is very thin and perfect for stowing in any pocket or holdall.
