Reliable (so far), Cold Start = No problem

I have a 99.5 7.3 f250. There are two mounting holes, as everyone said, looks the same as everyone said. No body modifications required (no grinding). Be sure to disconnect the batteries to turn it on. First I connected the wires and then inserted. The large positive wire has a pin that needs to be flattened. Someone said they set a fire on their truck. Just make sure the pin on the big red wire is straight and not touching the starter housing. I may have broken it. I can't remember, but I do remember it being too close to the starter housing for ease of use, and I modified it further with pliers. In any case, fasten the wires, and then insert them. The top screw I used with a 6" deep socket (maybe I also added a 3" extension?) that goes through the top of the starter. It lasted seconds. First, tighten the bottom screw (not too tight) so you don't drop the starter in your face. When you're done with the top, continue with the bottom. I used blue HF Loctite. How it works. 3 months and no problems. The last few years I've had a slow start, I knew it wasn't batteries, but in the winter my truck wouldn't even try to start, there was white smoke etc. Since installing this thing 30 degrees Ha, the weather hasn't been an obstacle . Allow the candles to warm up once or twice (about two minutes) and give it a grip. I hold the button for maybe 1 second before it starts. I can't say everyone will be as stable, and mine might not (there's a guarantee too), but so far so good. I would recommend an old starter. Also, you might run into the unreliability problem everyone is talking about. If you're getting an old-style launcher, why not upgrade if you're going to be bugging anyways? Give me a thumbs up if you like it. All right, bye.
