Review on 🍞 Stainless Steel Hamilton Beach 6-Slice Countertop Toaster Oven (31411) with Bake Pan by Debra Riley

My old Hamilton Beach Toaster broke. Most of my kids are in college now so I was looking for a small to medium sized stove as a backup. I rarely use the toaster, but I do toast vegetables and bake small casseroles, which is much faster and cooler than preheating a large oven because it doesn't need to be preheated or heats up quickly. Since I didn't need a large oven, I initially ordered the model 31143, which claims to hold 4 bagels. Maybe 4 mini bagels, but there's no way a bunch of asparagus fits in there. So I returned this model and after reading all the reviews I decided on this model (31411). Although larger than I initially wanted, other models either got hot on the grip or the dials were reportedly very difficult to move. There are no such problems with this model. (Although the top of the oven gets very hot, my old model got hot too). Because of the ledge at the back of the oven, it takes up more counter space (and frees up space for a medium-sized pizza). Looking for a smaller oven, love the space it gives me. I can pop a 6 cup muffin tin in the oven and have since transitioned to a diet that involves portioning many meals by cooking individual servings in muffin tins. Yes, other people have complained about the timer making a ticking bomb sound when cooking, but my old one made that too, so it doesn't bother me. However, this device also has a turn-on point that you can select so you can turn it on and use your own timer without ticking. Personally I would prefer to use a ticking timer as it turns off the oven when the timer expires. The only downside to the timer that I've encountered in the past was that the toaster would sometimes unplug. I set the time and heard it tick, so I assumed the oven was on. The timer will tick even if there is no power but the oven is not turned on. It often happened that the timer ran out and I went out of the oven to get food and it was still raw. Otherwise I love this oven.
