This is magic. Buy a small "nail polish" with a brush and then fill it up. I use it for EVERYTHING. Clean the battery spring and contact. No more swinging lanterns. Always. Those cheap aluminum LED lights with sections that bolt together - the aluminum oxide (rust) is the insulator (read, the flashlight dies). Unscrew the new flashlight sections, put a drop on each threaded section and reassemble. I use a little to USB cable. No more intermittent connections. Anything that is bare aluminum or bare copper we will oxidize/corrode without doing anything. . You come back and the copper is black. It's impossible to make a good connection other than stripping at least six inches of wire. Twist each wire, apply some "magic". Twist them together and use a wire nut. You won't have an intermittent condition, and if you go back to rewire something you'll find that the wire isn't rusted! Seriously. Wherever metal and electricity collide, add a little of that and everyone will be happier. Believe me. You will not be disappointed. It may seem expensive, but a little is enough for a long trip. (I use it A LOT and a bottle of nail polish lasts at least a year, my stash will be gone in maybe five years.)
