Design flaw, the whole mat is tilted towards the door and they couldn't get a head start there. The water runs off the side of the door pillar and also back down the nice low gutter they made there so it eventually drains off the side of the seat. I take the time to shake off as much snow and water as possible before putting my feet on it, so I'm not too harsh and don't expect this product to do anything more than reasonably. Unfortunately, these problems are common with these molded liners. I have tried every major brand on a variety of vehicles and some brands insist on leaving unprotected areas which defeats the purpose of the interior coating. Is it really that difficult to style them with a raised comb around the entire perimeter? Are you concerned people will have to lift their legs an inch when getting into a car? Manufacturers seem to care more about a form fitting and smooth fit. I'm sending them back to try another brand.
