So you really have to hit the sweet spot with these grouting handles to get them working, but once you get the hang of it it's easy and they last quite a while. First, shake them as if they weren't there. Morning. After shaking it enough, take the tip and gently press it into the solution a few times. After moving it up and down like it's a finger pen for a few seconds, you'll see the paint come off. Now you can apply a new coat of grout, run the pen lightly over the grout, and move on. I ended up coloring outside of the lines a lot, so I put a paper towel around and just wiped away whatever I made. . It will only destroy it. Instead, start over and tap the grout lightly with the tip to redistribute the paint. You may also need to shake it up a bit. Rinse and repeat this process a few times and I ran out of color on a couple of pens before the tip was destroyed. I also destroyed about 3 pins very early on before I found out. So I thought I'd stop by here and let you know before you make the same mistakes I did.
