I've destroyed quite a few salt and pepper shakers in the past because they weren't all stainless steel. These little guys are all stainless steel (except for the little rubber stopper at the bottom) and they've survived the treacherous heat of our stovetop. We don't have a lot of space in our apartment, so it's best to keep salt and pepper shakers on the stove. As I said, we've melted quite a few salt and pepper shakers, but these little guys are still good. They are stylish, simple, modern and I love the "S" and "P" on the top. When filling these shakers, I recommend taping tape over the "S" and "P" holes at the top. That way the salt and pepper won't squirt out when you put them on the floor. Great purchase, highly recommend!
