My son wore these to an anime convention.Usually he has to wear a small waistpack, but it was so so hot that he really didn't want to wear it (who could blame him), he had a large pink welt around his waist from wearing it the first day of the convention but he thought wearing his backpack would be even more uncomfortable and carrying a bag had a high degree of possible loss. So these shorts with their zipper pockets were a godsend. The weather was so hot that he used the pockets to carry his wallet in one zipper pocket and his phone and mask in the other pocket and I think, at least for summer conventions, he will wear these type of shorts.Something else he really liked is that the waist was soft, no uncovered elastic that could leave pink, itchy marks and the shorts stayed up with a drawstring. The fabric of the shorts is lightweight, but not see through or flimsy and it dried fast when he got sweaty.I washed these with a load of towels, but I pulled them out of the dryer long before the towels were finished drying because they already felt dry and I was hoping to avoid wrinkles, but I needn't have worried, even after a sweaty, long day at the convention, they didn't seem to crease or wrinkle overly.But the best thing about these shorts is that my son liked them so much that he asked me to get him several more pairs.
