Review on πŸ–₯️ MSI G241 Monitor - FreeSync, 1920X1080 Resolution, 144Hz Refresh Rate, Blue Light Filter, Flicker-Free, Optix G241 by Christopher Muhammad

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Beware of the RMA process

The monitor itself is great. Build quality, colors and sharpness are first class. I definitely cannot recommend the monitor enough myself. My biggest problem (and the reason for the 3 star rating) is that after about 10 months I had a dead pixel streak at the top of the screen. Because it was still under warranty. MSI told me I could send the monitor in for repairs, but I would have to pay for shipping to their facility. That means I had to pay an extra $75-$100 to have it shipped to them even under warranty. To be fair to you, this cost varies depending on where you live (I'm on the east coast). UPS/FedEx will charge you for packaging in excess of this cost, so I would definitely recommend keeping the original packaging for the duration of the warranty. I appreciate the fact that they will honor their warranty and fix the problem. I just don't like the fact that I'm taking a big hit just to fix a problem I didn't create. EVEN though this monitor is under warranty. It feels like they use the return shipping cost as a deterrent when shipping a defective device. 5 stars for the monitor, 1 star for the warranty/RMA process. EDIT: Among other things, the RMA number they just give is valid for 20 days. So if your monitor doesn't get there and get processed within 20 days, you're out of luck. It really seems like they are doing everything in their power to prevent you from having a good experience.
