Review on Pump Sentry 822 PS- Ensuring Sump Pump Efficiency during Emergencies with Sec America by Andrew Amzallag

Provides peace of mind.

We had a big storm a few years ago and the power went out for a few days. I didn't know if my drain pump in our newly bought home had a backup power system, but I later found out it didn't by observing the dirt found on our vapor barrier. I did some research and came across a demo video for Pump Sentry that sold easily. It was an investment that could save me a lot of money if I were to experience a power outage again. Installation was very easy and straightforward. A local company is charging around $1,600 to purchase and install, which is absurd. If you can get into your crawl space, you can install this yourself. Right now while I "fix" my sub I keep it on a drawer until I prepare a place to mount it on the wall, but it works as intended. After setup I did a test run and disconnected power from the house sump pump, pulled the sump pump lever to activate it and it turned on as intended. I went through the comments as to which battery to install it with and settled on the Interstate 12V 110Ah SLA/AGM (DCM0100) deep cycle battery, which should provide 20 hours of battery life in the event of a shutdown. Now that I have it installed I have the kind of peace of mind that is priceless when you have your own home. All in all, this is a small price to pay for your home. Crawl areas are often neglected, which can be costly to your home and even your health. I am very confident with my purchase and would not recommend anything less than what Pump Sentry has to offer. Do not use other backup paths if they cannot provide or exceed the same results.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
