I wrote a much more explanatory review which was rejected for reasons not yet understood. Maybe it was too long. I will try again and be much shorter. It is comfortable to stand on and even pleasant to stand barefoot on. The display is bright, sharp and easy to read. I found it affordable and easy to use. The device was tested in a standard bathroom on a dry, hard ceramic surface. Be careful not to place the feet of the appliance on or near the joints between the tiles. The test area is geologically calm (no heavy traffic or subsurface turbulence). Problem: Weight measurements taken with accurate, known pounds registered different weights (all within three pounds, maximum and minimum, of actual weight). Measurements by the same person (me) with an interval of just a few minutes (without changing clothes or maintenance) varied up and down by several pounds. Speaking only for itself, that completely devalues its intended use. I intend to return it. - Addendum: The manufacturer has indeed made conscious attempts to reconcile. They immediately sent a new scale that actually worked better but still showed the difference in weight for the same people in just minutes between uses. Thanks to customer service, but I also sent the second unit back.
