Review on IVict Citrus Attachment Compatible KitchenAid by Kevin Abner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for medium/large citrus fruits. Probably too big for limes (and some lemons)

I've never had a KitchenAid juicer attachment before so I can't compare the build quality between this one and this one but this one seems solid enough. More than I expected, but it doesn't bother me. A few observations: The reamer is quite large (see soda can photo for scale), which is ideal for grapefruit, oranges, and larger lemons. Regular lemons and limes are probably too small - the reamer still seems to work, but it seems like it's difficult to hold the lime in place without it slipping out of your hands. Anyway, I have a Mexican-style juicer for small citrus, so that's not a problem for me. If you're juicing more than one orange or grapefruit, don't worry about the included pulp strainer - it fills up too quickly to be practical. . Simply pour the juice into a large container and strain. Depending on what type of blender you have (mine is quite large), the bottom of the juicer can be 8 inches from the countertop. Use a tall juice container if you have one, as this will prevent you from splashing. for cleaning, so does no harm. The manual recommends using speed 6 when juicing, which initially seemed pretty high to me (most of my KitchenAid accessories just say to use at the lowest mixer speed), but after trying it, 6 worked fine and I did I don't feel like I'm putting any strain on the engine. The plastic body itself is attached to the mixer and pressed onto the mixer with a small screw on the side. The expander shaft then slides into the blender and you are good to go. Because of this, there's nothing to keep the reamer in the machine during operation other than the strength of your hand pressing the citrus against it. I was concerned that the reamer would stick to the citrus and break off when spinning, but so far I haven't had any problems.
