I have a 5 gallon tank and used these strips to check the water level. The kit includes a test tube that you fill with water and dip a strip in to check the water level. On the test strip bottles, you can check the colors of each element and see what level your water is at. With the help of these strips, I found that my nitrate levels weren't where they should be, so I worked to fix this problem. I wouldn't know without them, so I'm glad I have them. Easy to use and you also get a free water temperature sticker to stick on the outside of the tank. Absolute recommendation for aquarium owners!
