Review on 🎤 Saramonic Smartrig II XLR Microphone & 6.3mm Guitar Adapter: Enhance iPhone & Android Audio with Phantom Power Preamp Amplifier by Wayne Ohlrogge

I also have an iRig and now it's Saramonic and I can say it's more convenient. The volume control is labeled and it is easier to return to the selected setting. I think the amp is probably less powerful than the iRig (meaning it took more gain with the regulator to get the same signal level) but the noise floor is exceptionally low. For my setup, which is a computer voice recording with my own microphone, I had to set the gain to the highest level and both the unit at 75% and the input volume at 75% to get the best result . The resulting loudness was comparable to a commercial song on iTunes. The device has a good long cable, which is very nice. I also bought a Rode SC3 3.5mm TRRS-TRS adapter to connect to my computer, camcorder, etc., but no adapter is required to connect to a Microsoft Surface or iPhone. The possibility to connect a High Z device (guitars etc.) is really good. My iRig can't do that. I don't think I will as I don't have any High-Z gear, but it's nice to know I can. The Velcro that comes with it is nice and long so I can easily attach it to a mic stand or tripod. I love it. The device makes a pretty solid impression. Well done.
