What a great light! Slim, modern and functional. The performance is impressive. I have this on my standard 29 gallon tank. It was bought when I was assembling the tank 2 months ago but ordered earlier. The first month I used a beautiful and bright lamp, but I had to return it to the owner. I then had a weaker Fluval in the tank until this one arrived and it couldn't come later as my plants were starting to get stressed by the weaker Fluval. The first thing that struck me when I opened the Revain box was the packaging. was a bit weak and I saw that one of the other reviewers had a problem with the circuit board and I was concerned that this unit might be damaged. No, although the box is designed to sell 30" and 36" lightbulbs, the Finnex packaging was sufficient to protect the lightbulb. Pooh! Turned on when I plugged it in. However, the power cord is quite short. I had to use the entire cord to get to the outlet. Not much room for a drip loop (like not). Also, the IR receiver cable is quite long. It seems like half the length and that would be enough, but the longer the better? If that's true, then why such a short power cord? I put the lamp on the tank and was very happy with the result. Compared to the Fluval it was a huge difference: this Fluval was 18 watts and this one was 29 watts, so 1/3 more power and probably 1/3 more power output. I could see my plants blistering shortly after the swap, so it looks like O2 is being produced. It's too early to tell how this will affect the tank as I'll try to use the 24/7 feature. I ran it 24/7 last night and was surprised at how much light was visible at midnight. No blue moonlights but some kind of white exit with red. I didn't see what happened next but when I woke up the next morning it was the same color but lighter. I hope the light from this is enough in 24/7 mode or I just put the lamp on the timer and go to max. The board is easy. Works pretty well. The 24/7 features are actually pretty handy β once you set them up. Press the 24/7 button, then press the clock, and then the 24/7 button will set the clock again. From there you can make changes to the lighting, and then if you want to go back to 24/7, just press 24/7 once and it remembers the time based on the last 24/7 hours. So you have to get the clock right once and then you can use all the other settings and with just a push of a button go back to 24/7 mode and the time is right. The lamp is really thin. i have it on glass It's just that the hair is too narrow to wear the glass on your feet. Strange. I didn't use clear coasters since my aquarium is 30 inches (or so). So it looks like I fiddled around a bit to make it sit better on the glass. So far I don't know how to do that. but light leaks through the edges between the glass and the frame of the lamp. Not bad and not particularly annoying, but it's there. That's not a hood. So far I'm very happy with this purchase and of course the Revain was also a better price than my LFS. So win, win. Highly recommended. just looks damn good. Very nice form factor. If you don't pay attention to the wattage, it's just a beautiful light. The 24/7 feature is still used, but I usually set it to max brightness when standing next to a tank. The brightest period during a 24/7 cycle is a bit shorter than I would like - it looks like about 5 hours at higher/max power - so I add some extra high power lighting from time to time. . I also play with "time" to get a longer light period. Basically, I pick a time when there will be more light - often I just hit the "noon" button to know that the next 3 hours will be very light (the peak time of photography in 24/7 mode) . I wish there was a way to adjust the cycle time so that a longer photo period could be selected. At the same time, the 24/7 mode looks great. It makes the fish look really good and the plants look good too. Since it's constantly changing, this also drastically changes the look of the tank. A bright day is so different from a dawn, with all the red colors my tank looks like a completely different tank. Cool. I installed the IR receiver behind the rim of the tank. It works well at an angle, but not straight. Not a big problem, but they really could have found a better solution for the IR receiver. I will try to add photos soon.
