Review on Perixx Periboard-522 Wired Trackball Mechanical Keyboard With 2.17 Inch Built-In Pointing And Scrolling Feature, US English Layout by Alexandergraham Visoro

Truly one of a kind.

I went into looking for a quality keyboard and mouse for my upcoming POWER9 workstation build. Although my requirements aren't particularly stringent, I expect a high level of quality in the construction and details of whatever peripherals I acquire. Given that desk space is at a premium, I decided to look around for any all in one style keyboard and mouse devices. After some time looking around, I came across the Periboard-522 from Perixx (specifically the non-backlit model) and was taken by the elegance and design.I have since ordered one and put mine through the ropes as a test drive and, I've got to say, this really knocks it out of the park for me. The key switches used are quite robust, similarly to that of the Cherry MX Browns, the trackball is smooth as butter, and the size of the entire thing perfectly complements my desk. No more grimy mouse pads to contend with! The only minor complaint I have is with the arrangement of the Insert / Delete / Home / End / PgUp / PgDn keys. They are placed on the keyboard as a single column of buttons and is awkwardly placed by the arrow keys, which messes with my muscle memory a bit. Regardless of this, I won't dock any points from it.Unlike most keyboards with built-in mice, the trackball here is full sized and feels like it can easily stand on its own two feet. I certainly would suggest everyone to consider this offering from Perixx if your needs or desires fall in line with a keyboard/mouse combo like the Periboard-522.In short, you won't regret your purchase. I may even pick up a spare as well.
