I almost ran over a small turtle at the industrial entrance. We brought him home and the pet store determined he was 'semi-aquatic', he was less than 2 months old and most likely wouldn't survive, but we decided to give it a try. I bought a Zoo-Med turtle starter kit but it didn't have a heater so I bought this to stick with the brand. Heats about 30 liters of water, never switched off. The turtle sometimes dangles from it, so it shouldn't be unsafe. Not sure about the accuracy of the indoor thermometer, but the water is warm enough to keep the turtle happy!
