I switched to 33" tires last year and after a year of riding I started to feel a strange shaking in the rear wheel. As it turns out, the extra bracket I added not only completely punctured the metal, but nearly ripped the stock bracket off the jeep. Took me about an hour to remove and install it, and it seems out of one much stronger material to consist of material, with a stronger attachment to the tailgate. The tire is also mounted closer to the tailgate so there is likely to be significantly less stress on the studs and the tailgate itself, and the taillight is now visible above the tire as well. Overall this is much better than installing an extension bracket on the standard spare bracket.
