I was surprised at how soft the topsheet was. The lower part is the material that crocodiles are made of and is very soft. They are the same size as his croc shoes and are the same size, but I would say they are large because he doesn't wear socks with them, so they often fall off when he gets out of the pool. However, they helped him to stop slipping on the plastic pool! So if you want them to be snug, go down one size. My son is a size 5 and I am a size 5/6. As long as they work, he will grow up in them.
