I had no problems with the case preventing the screen from opening or otherwise damaging the computer. You just need to make sure the top cover is in place properly and you can open the screen to about 170 degrees, which is less than a full 180 degrees without the case. But I really can't think of a use case where I would need a monitor lid fully open and pressed against a table. The real problem is that Lenovo's 7th gen redesign is to replace the 2 mic holes on the front next to the front camera. you when the case is open. For the redesign, Lenovo replaced these with four mic holes on the front edge of the lid. which are now blocked by the hull. I'm still in the process of setting up this computer so I'm checking that the mic is picking up sound properly, but I have a feeling the mic sensitivity will suffer. I may have to use a small marker to mark the spots. where four holes should be and I drill them myself. I wish this case had pre-drilled holes, especially since it was made specifically for the X1 Carbon G7.
