Review on Windscreen Lightweight Windshield Portable Backpacking by Jorge Kehayas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very large and a bit heavy but works well

I use this with a typical 'micro' isobutane stove and canister. This panel is actually higher than the top of my 750ml pot which makes it a bit difficult to use but gives very good coverage. With 12 burners, it's large enough to surround a large stovetop and pot combination. For myself, I remove two to four panels to save weight. Removing the plates is as easy as removing a pin, much like removing links from a metal bracelet. A very simple operation. If I plan to cook over an open fire (instead of my isobutane stove) I bring all 12 plates as it allows for more flexibility. not dirty anything, especially when I've used it on an open fire and it's covered with soot. Bottom line, it's a bit heavy because it's steel and not aluminum or titanium, but the tall size and extra panels make it very versatile for general backpacking (not ultralight).

Pros
  • Securely mounted
Cons
  • Not the best
