Easy install - Detects water effectively - Alarm could be louder

I use this water sensor from D-Link in two places. The base unit + water detection "tail" is in my basement, along the wall that sometimes spills water during heavy storms. The "Washing Machine" block is at the top in a tray under the water heater. I installed it this morning following the instructions that came with it. I downloaded the D-Link app and scanned the QR code that came with the unit, then plugged in the tail and let us download the firmware update. Everything went quickly and painlessly! However, the included instructions said nothing about how to adjust the shim. So I poked around the D-Link app until I saw the option to add another device. This prompted me to scan the QR code at the bottom of the puck, adding it as another device to my D-Link ecosystem. I placed both sensors where I wanted and tested them with some water. I've learned that a few drops of water aren't enough to power them. But if there is too much water, the alarm will sound and my phone will get a notification right away. That's all good, but I will say that the alarm clock is not very loud. On the 1st floor it is audible but not very loud, on the 2nd floor it is NOT audible. That means I mostly rely on notifications coming in on my phone. I will investigate if I can make these warnings louder and harder to ignore. Finally, I hope the puck will notify me when its batteries are low! The documentation doesn't really say much about the puck, so it's hard to say if this will happen. Overall it does exactly what I was hoping for and it only took about 20 minutes to set up. So far I am satisfied with this water sensor.
