Review on HitchSafe HS7000T HS7000 Key Vault by Mark Albright

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Do you have Tacoma or Tundra? Or the new 4Runner?

The storage space in the safe is small, but this product is still very smart, theoretically easy to install and works well (depending on the design/shape of your 2" receiver). If you have a Toyota Tacoma (I had a 2019) or Tundra it will NOT work out of the box as the supplied screws are too short. So you MUST purchase other, longer screws from HitchSafe (which cost around $10 and don't even come with foam washers!). The longer screws you need are part of #HS7021T. I personally find it insulting that the company is forcing Tacoma/Tundra owners to purchase a different part instead of just offering longer bolts as an option (albeit at a modest additional cost) with the initial purchase. HitchSafe takes all the money! UPDATE: Now HitchSafe is NOT working on my 2020 Toyota 4Runner. "), so it will NOT fit unless you file/shave all edges of the HitchSafe. hSafe. Incorrect and misleading description of HitchSafe as fitting all 2" receivers. It will NOT fit unless , You make the necessary changes. Very annoying!
