I would say that's about average for night vision goggles today. Not great quality but good enough to see at some distances. I tried them out at night while looking at a neighbor's house about 500 feet away. The picture was ok, but not as good as I would like. Especially when he needs to see 1000 feet. The resolution is only 960p, which I wouldn't call HD at all. I couldn't concentrate very well and some people moving at that distance just seemed like dirty objects. They focus fairly well at short distances. I have yet to try them at night in 100% darkness. Under these conditions, they can work better. Where I used them there were light and dark areas between me and the distance I was looking at. This can affect the picture quality. For the price, they're not bad at all. Would I buy them again? I might weigh options very carefully against others in this price range before making my decision. Overall, I award 4 stars because I think the image resolution should really be higher.
