The good news is that these Blum Compact 33 self-closing hinges with 110 degree screw are an exact replacement for the broken Blum hinges on the same model. A Phillips screwdriver with two screws and a bolt makes it easy to remove broken hinges and install new ones easily. I like hinges because they are silent and they work smoothly (when they are not broken). The bad news is that eventually the inner plastic part will break and no longer hold the hinge open. Instead, even a broken hinge can cause a closet door to partially close. 68 of these Blum hinges are used on my kitchen cabinet doors. After about 7 years the first loop broke. I bought a replacement set of 10 loops. Over the next 3 years I used all of these spares plus a spare of 8 sets. So now, after about 9 years, I have used up 11 spare loops. At around $2 each, it's worth keeping a pack of these replacement loops on hand. I expect about 4 replacements per year out of 68 in my kitchen based on frequency of failures.
