The replacement monitor works much better.

The original monitor I received had a fatal flaw: when connected to my Mac or iPhone, these devices would briefly freeze or crash every few minutes. I got a replacement and the new monitor doesn't have these issues anymore so I'm happy with that. HDR is still a little gimmick, but the monitor performs significantly better than the first. Again, the screen looks good. You might need to tweak it a bit in the settings, but out of the box it's not as weird as the first copy I had. As before, I've used it with my Mac and iPhone 13 PM and now they both work great with this monitor. The replacement for now is a big improvement. ===== Original Review: I wanted to love this monitor but sadly had to return it. First, it has an "HDR mode" which is actually not HDR at all. I had to disable this to get the screen to display the correct colors. Otherwise, the screen just shows everything blurry. Once the colors were sorted out, the screen was fine. It reminded me of old laptop screens from the early 2000s. This is normal but not great and not at all like modern laptop screens. So lower expectations in that regard. My biggest problem, ignoring the mediocre screen and image quality, was that my MacBook Pro freezes every 2-3 minutes with the monitor connected. This uses either/or a USB-C connection or an HDMI connection. Both will freeze my mac and give me a beach ball. As soon as I unplugged the monitor, the freezing was gone. Looking at the console logs showed that the Mac was reporting a "signal error" from the graphics card during the hang. So I know it's the monitor. Also, I wanted to use the monitor with my phone and it worked for a short time, then it crashed and I had to unplug the monitor and plug it back into the phone. This happened with the same frequency as freezing on my Mac. The monitor was returned today and I have ordered another from a different manufacturer. Hope this works better.
