Review on UGREEN Enclosure Aluminum High Speed Compatible by Joseph Lang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

good body suitable for hard disk Accessories

Installing the hard disk is very easy. You remove the bottom, take out the plastic tray, put the hard drive in the tray, install the plastic brackets, put the tray + hard drive in the case, and finally put the bottom back in place. When everything is put together it feels very solid and smooth. Doesn't look cheap. You connect a 12V power adapter for power and a USB Type-C cable for data transfer. Please note this is a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. You can use an adapter to convert one side to USB Type A (normal USB angle) or you can use a cellphone cable. However, be aware that your speed may be affected if you use random cables. I haven't tested the thing's full speed as I'm only using it for slow hard drives at the moment. I might try a SATA SSD one day and test USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 Gen 2. The only downside I have is that it takes a few minutes to install the hard drive as intended - with an internal compartment and plastic brackets. The internal compartment serves as a base and a way to keep the drive in place so it doesn't jump or accidentally fall out of the SATA connector. If you want to use this to swap hard drives quickly, e.g. B. in a typical multi-drive backup situation, you can still do this without the internal tray and latches. Just note that you need to keep the case horizontal and not move it while it's plugged in. Also, the thing looks pretty high quality. After all, you pay more than other options. The whole body is not entirely aluminum, but it is clearly visible in the photos. I do not mind. It feels solid and works the way I want it to.
