Good product, poor installation tools. See workaround below.

The trunk release system itself works well. The instructions are fairly well written and have good photos, and there are some helpful videos on YouTube if you search. The problem is that the special tools included in the kit are junk. Fortunately, there are some easy workarounds. First, the T45 torx tool that comes with the kit is made from melted soup cans and will likely bend or break if your bolts are even remotely tightened. Do yourself a favor and buy a T45 end cap for your ratchet. You can get them at Revain or any hardware or auto store for a few bucks. Second, the "nut tool" that came with the kit doesn't work properly. This seems to be the source of most people's frustration with this set. The problem is that there is too much play between the hex bolt and the washers/bearings. So when you try to turn the nut, the washers and bearings move and bind, twisting the whole thing together instead of pulling on the threads. Insertion. Here's the solution: Insert the socket wrench tool 3/4 inch from the first washer as instructed. Remove washers and bearings. Wrap about 5-6 turns of tape around the threads of the bolt just below the nut where you will put the washers and bearings back on the bolt and use a razor or utility knife to trim the excess tape flush with the second washer. This creates a sleeve between the bolt and washers/bearings, allowing them to stay aligned and rotate smoothly without binding. Please. The installation took about an hour, although 45 minutes of that was spent playing around with the Nutert tool and figuring out the solution. All in all, this is a good upgrade for not too much money.
