Review on Sony HDR-MV1 Black Video Camera by Janis Libeks ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

This camera is certainly not universal "for all occasions", but it does an excellent job with its main task - recording music rehearsals, and is also perfect for recording vlogs. Someone in video reviews is trying to present it almost as a camera for recordingcomncerts - but for these purposes it is only suitable if it is installed near the stage or on the stage itself (considering the wide-angle optics and the lack of zoom, when shooting from row 10, the stage will be at a distance of a kilometer) and only with a tripod (no optical stabilization) All the remarks described in the "Disadvantages" section are verycomnditional - it all depends on the tasks that you plan to solve using the camera Link to video recorded under normal home lighting using the built-in microphones of the camcorder ? v=3Uq4ylw845g

Pros
  • - Excellent sound recording, not inferior to any of the competitors - Significantly better than competitors, copes with shooting in low light - for example, with normal home lighting, you get quite a decent picture - Wide angle: allows you to capture the entire orchestra in the frame from a short distance; during solo rehearsals, it makes it possible to set the camera is so close that even without using an external microphone, the sound is recorded with virtually no extraneous noise (other video recorders, such as the zoom q2HD, have to be moved much further from the subject, which requires a higher microphone sensitivity with all the negative consequences for the quality of sound recording) - Ability to connect external sources, such as a mixing console, for better recording quality of a group of musicians - WiFi
Cons
  • At $300, it doesn't have some of the features of cheaper competitors (at eBay prices because our store prices are overblown): - cannot be used as a usb-microphone-camera, as it is implemented on the zoom q2HD, - no possibility of overdubbing like on tascam dr-v1hd - the reverse side of the medal of a wide-angle lens - absolutely horizontal objects (synthesizers, tables, etc. ) in the video will acquire very funny rounded shapes
