To be honest, the components I have are 45 years old, although the receiver, player and speakers still work well. I replaced my old cart/stylus because I no longer thought I was getting the level of playback I used to have. I had high hopes for a much better sound after installing the AT, but actually I didn't notice any changes. It's entirely possible that I'm just not taking advantage of AT's offering due to another, as yet undiagnosed, issue somewhere in the audio chain. However, based on the sound comparison alone, I don't see any improvement over my old wagon/Needle which is probably over 20 years old. Maybe I really didn't need a replacement. However, considering the price and the great reviews, I was expecting at least a noticeable difference.
