Review on πŸ”ͺ Uncle Henry 153UH Golden Spike: All-Purpose Outdoor Knife for Survival, Camping, and Hunting - 9.25in SS Blade with Rat Tail Tang and Staglon Handle by Kevin Carr

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Minor repairs were required.

Although it was an attractive knife with a nice sturdy sheath, it required little maintenance. The "Staglon" grip had a noticeable 1/16 inch wobble from front to back where it hit the forearm. Tightening the screw didn't help, and lining the lid helped little. I disassembled the grip and found that it relies on glue for a tight fit on the split stock. Someone put glue on the bottom of the blade instead of the top. Applying a small amount of Gorilla Glue to the right spots solved the problem by filling the gaps with material. Well, I knew from the start that the pen was synthetic. These Schrade knives are designed for field use, not high-end use, so expect some downsides from time to time.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • A few minor things
