My son's tortoise stars and lunar projector died so I looked for a replacement. I found this device and thought he would like it. I was right, he seems to want to look at a different color combination every night when he falls asleep. For the first few nights, he even asked to go to bed early to watch his personal light show. He loves that he spins! I like that it has a power cord. I'm tired of changing batteries every month so this is a big improvement. Two cons that prevent it from being 5-star: 1. There is no auto shut off (at least when using the power cord). If I forget it spins all night. It doesn't seem to bother his sleep, but it annoys me.2. The projection is not sharp. Everything is a little blurry when it hits the ceiling. That's because the dome is so thin. It's paper thin. Thickening it to about a quarter of an inch makes the light waves more restrained and the projection sharper.
