I do a lot of carpentry in my garage and during Covid times it has become more of a hobby. One of the things I often struggled with was marking and cutting boards to exact lengths with a ruler or worse, a tape measure. That's why I ordered these. The blocks are amazingly accurate. They are made of what appears to be solid aluminum and are of premium quality. The clasp on the box is a little finicky but gradually loosens with use. All in all a great tool for precise woodworking.
