I have Volkswagens with fairly short jack plates, so it is not possible to fit the jack and stand in the area under the small reinforced jack point. This 4 ton jack is thin enough to fit at the very end of the jack point and leaves enough clearance for the jack posts to fit at the other end of the jack point. The base of this stand is narrow and I would never go under a car without a stand, but this is a very solid jack that is easy to raise and lower with a ratchet or air tool and the narrow base is actually a plus for me use it.
