We use contractor bags (42 gallon) to line our bins. Inside we put bags for kitchen trash cans so they can be picked up at the curb. These bags prevent leaks and provide an extra barrier against scavengers (birds and critters) to reduce the smell of dirt. It is important to note that the mil (thickness) of these bags is not as high as some of the contractor's other bags. If you don't really need them for your contractor's trash, they're still very valuable for everyday use.
