At this time I cannot recommend Lenox hole saws for cutting anything other than softwood. You have a large defect in the weld (the weld is thinner than the rest of the hole saw) cutting the seam from the teeth to the bit body. I noticed that the weld was shearing off where the teeth were. after making a cut in thick sheet metal and then looking at another lenox bit i had and noticed it cut in the same place too. If they made the weld the same thickness as the metal around it, this problem would be much less likely to occur. that do not have this defect and are not cut off along the weld.
