Works great so far with computer accessories and peripherals

Died immediately after 12 months of very infrequent use. I don't even leave it on. While it works great. My old USB 3.0 reader died and my new computer has 2 3.1 ports so I went that route. I have never reached 5GB transfer speed. And my C drive is Samsung https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LYFKJR7/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. With EVGA motherboard https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Z270 -Intel-Mainboard-132-KS-E277-KR/dp/B01N6NCQWV/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517187695&sr=8-1-fkmr0. I typically use a read/write speed of 95MB/s. I thought it would be much faster. But it works, so I'm happy with it.
