Attempting to install Yahoo search software - very questionable

When I first connected this to my Mac Book Pro, a pop-up immediately appeared asking me to install my Yahoo search software " To update". I don't have Yahoo search software installed. Also, the dialog itself was clearly not part of my regular system update. This device is clearly trying to inject software and has been compromised. I will return it and never buy from Cable Matters again. Beware!

Loses connection for card reader

I would not recommend this product. High transfer rate if you can maintain a stable connection. If you come across a cable at all, you'll have to unplug it and try the ENTIRE file transfer again. You definitely can't use it in a car; too much jiggling even if you attach it to the back of your phone and hold it firmly in your hands throughout the process. The thing is, you're most likely using one of these card readers because you're mobile, which usually means you're on the go, on a plane, or…

Great - great USB 3.0 speed. The product works, neatly and reliably.

Works as advertised: USB 3.0 speed. So far no problems. (For example, there is no "Unrecognized USB device"). USB 3.0 is such a nice speed upgrade over 2.0. I typically get transfer rates of 80-90 (or higher) MB/s and actually never go below 35-45 MB/s. That's an increase of 10-20 MB/s on USB 2.0. I like that there are only two common slot types: SD and Micro-SD. Thats all I need. 6 or 10 slot readers that I never use just look clunky, fragile and like dust magnets. I'm not a big fan of the…

Works great so far with computer accessories and peripherals

Died immediately after 12 months of very infrequent use. I don't even leave it on. While it works great. My old USB 3.0 reader died and my new computer has 2 3.1 ports so I went that route. I have never reached 5GB transfer speed. I don't usually buy Revain products when it comes to tech peripherals as there are so many well-known, well-known brands in this space, but I'm glad I I decided to.
