I built a new system for my wife to replace an outdated 2012 Athlon II system. If you're not using an SSD as your OS drive in 2018, you're doing something wrong. I chose this 250GB Silicon Power SSD. I had never heard of or bought anything from Silicon Power before, but the other positive reviews seem commendable and there are very few crash reports, so I decided to give it a try. It has 3D NAND and was incredibly cheap so I figured I couldn't go wrong. The drive is incredibly light, so much so that I was almost worried that it was just a plastic case. The actuator has threaded holes on both the side and bottom, giving you mounting options. My case had both options, and I installed it "flat" on the motherboard side of the case, vertically. The drive is very fast, I'm not the type to test the speed of my drives, but it boots into Windows 10 in about 10 seconds or less and wakes up almost immediately. Performance per dollar so far has been outstanding. If I ever fail I will update the review but so far so good.
