I have read all the other reviews and this is my opinion. That's a little small. If you have an event for 250 people, choose something bigger. I gifted this to my friend who was having a small backyard wedding and it was perfect for 50-100 people. It only came with one ink pad (pink) but I needed fall colors so I separately bought a set of ink pads with about 6 ink pads in different colors. We combined yellow, brown and green. Perfect for a fall/winter wedding! The bride will take it to mount and frame. We had pop up baby wipes for guests to wipe the ink off their hands which was very easy. There was also a calligraphy style ink pen with a very fine point so everyone could write their name next to the thumbprint! I liked it very much. I am attaching a photo of how it turned out. I didn't want the version with the bride/groom's names and the date next to it, so it was perfect in that regard too. It was simple, elegant, and once framed and hung on the wall, it looks more like art until you approach it and understand what it is, which is more in line with my friend's style.
