I've had it with a lot of clothes including heavy duty hangers for a little over a year. I'm sure I had more weight than I need but it held up well for over a year. Then one of the welds broke and he collapsed. Probably more my fault than the product. As long as you don't go crazy from overload, you'll be fine. Also note that for adult clothing you will need a fairly tall rod to hang them. You'll need to adjust it at the bottom of the long poles to fit over them. If you have a short closet, it won't fit. For a women's blouse to fit both top and bottom, your stem needs to be at least about 5 1/2 feet up, and then the bottom ones just touch the floor. I have a very small closet and really needed a little more space for the bar so I raised the main bar to accommodate it.
