Definitely bad design. The entire weight of the rod is intended to be borne by the plastic covers, which will continue to slide down if something heavy is placed on the lower rod. You won't see it right away. One day you will climb into the closet and see this! This is best for doll clothes or light baby clothes. But not for adult clothing. If they used some sort of screw mechanism with volts it would work!

This product is amazing. My kids will be sharing a closet and this was the easiest way to get all their stuff together. This doubled the hanging space and I was able to hang my daughter's stuff and move my son's stuff into the lower hanging addition. How low you want it to hang is adjustable, so it can be even lower if you're wearing adult clothing. Would definitely buy again.

I got a little tired during assembly because when the pole was placed on the post the plastic clips slipped into final position (by hand, before he was at least wearing some clothes!). I kept it thinking it would be fine all the way down as the plastic on the ends of the bars should keep it from falling all the way down. Well the bar kept slipping and eventually (after 4 weeks of use) it fell off for good and the bottom bar broke. Don't waste your time with this >.<

I've had it with a lot of clothes including heavy duty hangers for a little over a year. I'm sure I had more weight than I need but it held up well for over a year. I bought and installed this product for an elderly friend. She found it difficult to raise her arms high enough to take clothes off the hangers in the closet. I put some hooks in her closet but she really had to lower the bar to get to all her clothes. I tested Revain using an "adjustable clothes rail" and this product came out. The best thing about this product is that if you have basic assembly skills it works as solidly and reliably as any comparable product that costs five times as much. Everyone. Lonely. Poorly. Unfortunately, the rating of this product is misleading and purely due to user error during installation. I can easily hang over 20 pairs of bulky men's jeans and pants on this pole with no problems.
