Very happy with this decision. I borrowed my mom's Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner and was concerned it wouldn't work as well as it was for a Hoover product. He removed any stains from the black mulch brought onto the light beige carpets by the dog's paws and shoes. I also spilled some tea mixed with milk and sugar, which was something of an old stain that I couldn't completely get rid of. I walked around the area three times and he came out! I have a small portable shampoo and decided to try it on a light beige swivel chair. With 4 dogs and 2 cats this chair was in dire need of a clean and I figured anything is better than nothing. It came out BIG! The fabric is a coarse tweed fabric, has a pleasant, clean, fresh smell and leaves no marks. I have VERY sensitive skin and get breakouts easily from the slightest amount of chemical/soap product residue. Luckily it didn't bother me at all! I added another half cap of shampoo as I had quite a bit of dirt. It also dries fairly quickly, in about 2.5 hours at 75* low humidity. Other shampoos I've used in the past either take much longer to dry or leave a greasy residue. It was just a clean, fresh look.
