Works well for a beginner in copper blank stamping

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a specialist in metal stamping and have only used these in limited circumstances. However, I was very happy with it. I think they are good for beginners. (I don't really like stamping letters and numbers, but I love making patterns, so I bought some small picture stamps.) My set consists of a steel workbench, a 1-pound brass-headed hammer, and copper blanks. , usually something like 24 gauge. The copper blanks I buy are specifically for jewelry making/stamping. I haven't tried stamping other metal items (keys, tools or whatever, although the product description says you should only stamp non-ferrous metals and not iron or steel), but these dies seem to be primarily for craft purposes, and they do work pretty well under my setup. (I haven't damaged the dies or my hammer so far.) Not much to say about the molds. It's circles. There are three different sizes. Since these are simple shapes, it's not that difficult to depict all the details on my blanks, even with my relative lack of experience. Now I'm experimenting with using Gilder's Paste to fill in stamped prints for more contrast. I noticed that the product's name says "round punches" but these are stamps, they don't make holes in the metal. Or at least they certainly didn't punch holes in the metal under the circumstances in which I've used them.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but something was

So I'm basically out $11 for garbage. My fault for not checking the return policy ...
