The boots are not suede, but they don't shine either. I'm not sure what type of leather it is, but this leather conditioner has worked wonders on these boots! They have been destroyed! I wore them to my job as a waitress and they had food and water stains on them. It was terrible! Just before throwing it away I tried this product and was blown away! Refurbished almost like new! I washed my shoes first (which I shouldn't) and then applied several coats of this product to soften and repair the leather. Saved my $300 shoes from the trash can!
