I am very happy with this blanket. The quality is very good and the colors are very pretty. I have purple flowers. As mentioned in other reviews, the cushion pads are very large. I managed to squeeze two pillows into one case. It's thick stuff and for me the fakes are too gross to sleep with. I only use them for decoration. I think the California king pillow could fit in the cloaks without leaving that much extra room. I have a queen bed but it is very high off the floor because I have a mattress, box springs and a high bed frame. Since my bed is so high, I always order either a California King or King comforter. This worked perfectly and I have enough room to walk along the sides of the bed without showing the bed rail. If you have a mattress and box springs you should definitely increase the size of your duvet, if you don't have box springs then a queen size is fine.
