It was a reasonable purchase, will order more.
I bought it as a plug for a very noisy ALC3204 in a dell laptop. Itself on Cmedia CM6533 + HT97220. So from creative here only the design of the board, and judging by the presence of many diodes (buzzing noises?) Not bad. 7.1 and 5.1 are purely software effects (well, what else was expected). Well, it's a good stereo card, but perhaps it's better to look at the DACs instead.
- Perhaps a good sound for its price (there is still little experience and hardware). Works with line/android out of the box (because cmedia)
- It makes noise, at least on linux (so it's probably the wrong interaction of the card with the amplifier). Much smaller than alc3204, but larger than ALC1220. But this is on headphones that are very sensitive to noise, noise is not heard on 60 Ohm sennheizer hd280 pro
