Review on ๐Ÿšด NiteRider 6780 Lumina OLED 1200 Boost - Black (One Size) by Mike Bogan

Decent but imperfect light

I mostly use the light on my road bike on the 550 lumen setting. It's bright enough, but sometimes I turn it all the way up for a better view. The beam shape is very good side-to-side and down, but in my opinion some of the light is "wasted" at the top. I think the NiteRider could do something clever with the lens to reduce the amount of light escaping upwards. I understand that this may not be desirable in mountain biking. Either the remaining time display is not working properly or there is a problem with the battery. For example, on my typical 75 minute rides, the time remaining drops by 110-120 minutes. This problem also occurs when I use the light setting on the flash. This applies to rides in warm and cold weather, so temperature influences on the lithium-ion battery are not the cause. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem. It took some research but I finally came to the conclusion that this light emits electromagnetic radiation which is interfering with my cycle tracker. Apparently this is a known problem with inexpensive analog wireless computers like my Cateye Strada. Wired, digital, or GPS computers do not have this problem. Still, I want the NiteRider to protect the light. Some devices have this feature. I solved the problem by mounting my phone on the steering wheel instead of a computer and using an app to track distance and speed. Increasing the distance by installing a light on my helmet may have solved the problem as well, but I prefer a handlebar light. The steering wheel is very good. It keeps the light very well even when I press the light buttons.
